I'm starting to think about Orphan Sunday again. Last year we did an "orphan and adoption awareness" workshop at our church the day before Orphan Sunday. That title didn't work--several people seemed to think it was only for people who were actually in the adoption process, so very few showed up. I need to think up a more inclusive title.
Please consider doing something in your own community or church to help get out the message that there are so many children around the world in need of our love and assistance--kids who have been orphaned, kids in foster care, kids in dire poverty, kids who are displaced due to war, kids who are being trafficked sexually. Check out www.orphansunday.org for excellent resources to help your preparations. And please pray that God will show you exactly what He wants YOU to be involved in the solution.
